Brewing the Perfect Cup of Tea

Always use a clean teapot or teacup and fresh water.
Preheat the pot or cup with a bit of the hot water.
Use 1 tsp. (approx. 3g.) of loose tea leaves for each 6 ounces of water, and always pour the hot water over the tea leaves.

Green and White Teas – The water for brewing these delicate teas should be between 160oF and 175oF.
Steep leaves for 1 to 3 minutes

Oolong and Pu-Erh Teas – The water for brewing these semi-fermented teas should be between 180oF and 190oF.
Steep for 2 to 4 minutes

Black Teas – The water for brewing black teas should be at a full rolling boil - 212oF.
Steep for 3 to 5 minutes

Rooibos – The water for brewing rooibos teas should be at a full rolling boil - 212oF.
Steep for 5 to 6 minutes
